What is your work focused on?
Paid organizing: Community Organizer for Family Friendly Economy VA. Organize for family centered policies that will help to empower Virginia’s families. Main policy is paid leave, along with elder care, affordable child care, affordable higher education, raise the living wage, and more.

Non paid organizing: Henrico NAACP, Founder and Chair of Henrico County Democratic Black Caucus, and volunteer for Biden for President. I am part of the Women for Biden Harris grassroots digital team, Women of Color for Biden Harris Coalition founding member and part of the leadership team, Virginia Women for Biden Harris, Virginia African Americans for Biden Harris, and Biden Digital Coalition.

How long have you been doing this work? And what motivated you to do this work?
I have been organizing for 3 years now. I LOVE ORGANIZING. My motivation is my family and my community. I made the promise during our graduation that I will fight to make sure the lens of equity is always being used, especially in politics and policy. I am proud to say I have kept my promise and been unapologetic about doing so. We have made progress, but still have so much more to do. I am forever grateful to VAPLP for empowering me to always be unapologetically me, no matter what.

What is your theme song?

If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
Harriet Tubman. She was just an all around badass who risked her life for others. It’s not just about us making it, but we must fight to ensure we all make it. We don’t have to accept our current situation, but we must keep fighting and pushing against the odds to create a better one. I absolutely Stan strong Black women!

What is the most exciting thing you have worked on or work you are most proud of?
I am currently working with my women of color coalition to create “Momala Fest”, a celebration of Kamala’s birthday and a huge GOTV-V(virtually) effort on a national stage for the Biden Harris campaign. I am most proud to be a mom to my amazing 3 teenage sons.
